Profile

After leaving Stratton abruptly in 2020 due to Covid I then attended university at Manchester Metropolitan University. During my breaks from university I came back to Stratton to support with maths interventions and to gain some work experience. When I graduated from university in 2023 I came straight back to Stratton to work as a maths teacher.

My degrees was a mix between a maths and education degree where I learned lots of different elements of maths including developing my knowledge from a-level as well as learning to teach and having placements in schools to build up my skills. The added benefit was I could obtain my QTS in 3 years rather than also having to complete a PGCE (which then would’ve taken an extra year).

Advice to students

If someone offers you help, take it. There is no shame in needing support and advice from others with more experience.
